Honouring Christ when life is messy – incorporating " love song for a wounded warrior"
Home page – welcome.
Welcome, it is great to see you. This blog originated after the publication of the book ” Love song for a wounded warrior” in June 2020, a book honouring the memory of the late Colin Gardner, a veteran and someone who subsequently battled with intractable epilepsy.
This book is available for £10 directly from this site, or from Amazon. The proceeds are split between two charities, the Coming Home centre in Glasgow, and Epilepsy Connections.
The blogs are about the impact that disability, trauma and grief can have on individuals and family members, and some of the messiness and pain around that, as well as the moments of humour and love and hope. As a Christian, I want to acknowledge the incredible difference that my faith has made in the darkest of days, and to encourage others to keep going, even when the pain in life can feel overwhelming.
STOP PRESS – A new book Love Songs for Healing and Hope is being published on 24th June 2020! More details to follow!

God holds us, even when we feel lost in the dark, and His love gives us strength for the journey.

Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial church was bombed on 23rd November 1943, and lay in ruins. In the 1950’s there was much debate as to what to do, and in…
Before I start my story, I want to tell you that I have a marvellous dog. He has been rehomed, and he is a character! In recent months, he has been experimenting with his claws on my sofa. He doesn’t mean anything by it, but the duct tape to repair it has become less effective.…
Life can just go by so quickly. There is so much to do, phone calls to make, deadlines to meet. It can feel so very busy, that we cannot catch our breath. Modern life can feel so pressured. Recently, I have so enjoyed having time off, with some beautiful friends, beach walks, gorgeous food, catching…
My goodness, it is 5 years since my late husband’s death. I naively thought at the time because he had been ill for such a long period, I had done a lot of grieving already. Boy was I wrong, as there was so much more to come. It has taken me 5 years to work…
